The Weekend Last night I had the first gig in my "6 Gigs in 5 Days" World Tour. (Ok, so it's only a York Region tour but it's a start) It was long and very loud. No, no us loud. Screaming, cackling, shouting, patron loud. They had fun - I had a headache. Ah well.... I'm just about to leave to play at a wedding. (Nope, no scary '80's music for me. Oh, wait- the first dance they had us learn is "Eternal Flame"...... Oh my god, I'm Adam Sandler!!!!) Thursday, August 22, 2002

Happy, Happy, Happy! No I didn't just finish watching "Emeril", I'm just feeling a little more positive today. I've taken my life and given it a great big shake. I'm soooooooooo stressed about finding a job that I have no room in my head for anything else. I don't like this feeling so I did something about it. No, it dosen't involve a red light. :) I made a poster today. Ummm...... life changing? Actually, yes. I was sitting thinking about what I have to offer the business world and here is what I came up with: typing about 100 words per minute, a perky (ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!) phone manner, the ability to listen, an intimate knowledge of more than 30 softwear programs from Corel Draw to Word to Bryce, a sharp mind, reams of experience in Admin work, tons of experience in PR and Advertising. So why can't I find a job? Granted I'm limited by location (it must be on a bus route) and it has to be full time between the hours of 8-5:30 somewhere but there still should be something out there. Well, I have one more thing to offer. My musical ability. I'm going for it. I've recorded a Sampler CD (Email me if you'd like a copy) with pop, rock, country, blues, jazz, broadway, bluegrass, voice over stuff and cartoon voice stuff. The poster reads something like: Vocalist Available for Session Work, Demos, Voice over work (singing and spoken), Background Vocals, Gigs, Cartoon Work, Ect.... Blah, Blah, Blah.... No it doesn't really say Blah.... and it's much prettier in person. :) I've done a website for myself (actually "Am Doing" is a better description, it should be up tomorrow or so) as well. Cross your fingers!!!!!! Oh, if you're interested in hiring me, I love to travel! :) In other news Eye doctor update: My appointment is November 8. I'll find out what's going on then. Weekend show: It went really well. It was quite long though, no not theatre long, I'm talking "Titanic" long. lol I had a blast! Sarah: Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Across the board. I'll cross my fingers about apartments and writing.) Jenny: Thinking of you! :) Just let me know when is best for you with regards to the story meeting. I'm fairly free during the day. |
