!@#%^&%*$$%#!!!!!!!!! Pardon my french. :) Well, it's official. Ken stopped by here and told me that Stewart called him. Here's the jist of that conversation. "I guess I'll just come out and say it. Music isn't fun anymore so I'm not going to do it." This on the eve of the release of our first CD. Thanks buddy. This is the third time that he has "retired" from music. If I actually thought it was a case of him being tired and not wanted to play I could understand but it's not. Everythime we get the tinyest bit of success he does this. First he skips rehersals, then blows off gigs. He's always saying he's too old to make it in the music industry. Bull****. Everyone chalks it up to Stewart being flakey, "oh that's just Stewart, he'll be back". Well I for one, am sick of it. We're going to Jody's on Monday to see how we play together. Cross your fingers. I'll miss the onstage stuff with Stu, we work so well together. Jody.... there's an unknown quantity. He's 34 married with children. Ahhhhh... the end to another perfect week. :( Lighter Fair: Q & A Time What are you currently reading?: "Dark House" Peter Straub & Stephen King What are you currently listening to?: A mix CD with Michelle Branch and Paul Alan What is your current favorite song?: "The One Thing" & "She's the Reason" Paul Alan and "Someone Elses Story" from the musical "Chess" What's your favorite sound? What's the funniest or most entertaining thing you've done this week?: Started a blog with Nick! Something you look forward to? Christmas!!!!!! My birthday (December 29) I've given up stressing about age. I figure if I reach another year, it's another year I'm alive, meeting Dan. Reality Check I just want to take this oppertunity to tell my friends that I love you guys. I had a panic moment last night. My mom and I had just finished watching the serise premier of "John Doe" (Really cool!) when we decided to go outside and watch the sheet lightening. We had only been outside for about 2 minutes when we heard sirens. Lots of them. All different kinds of sirens. Ambulance, police, fire... yes they all sound different. The scary thing was that it was obvious that they we stopping a few roads over. This was confirmed when a steady stream of buses, trucks and cars began to flow down my road. This was REALLY strange as my road is very quiet, there has never been a bus or large truck on it. We figured out that the police must be at the top diverting traffic. My immediate thought was for Shannon and my Dad. They had been performing in Aurora and we were expecting them home anytime. Mom and I got dressed and headed over to see what was going on and make sure that it wasn't them. (In retrospect I supose we could have just called Dads cell phone. Duh!) We tried going up the road but the top was blocked so we went back down and drove along the lake and up Passedena (2 roads over). We parked at the top of the road and I walked up. (Mom waited in the car, she didn't want to leave it unattended due to the volume of traffic) I got to the corner and upon hearing my name being called I made my way over to Charity and Andrew (Ken's daughter and boyfriend). We stood in shock trying to make sence of what we were seeing. I've seen some accidents but none like this. (It was clear that my dad hadn't been involved. I could tell that by car colour) The first car was in front of a garage in the middle of the road the second car was also in the middle of the road but almost 100 feet away. I have a very clinical eye and stomach of steel (don't worry I'm not going to tell you anything gross) but it took me several minuted to see everything and make the connections. The best I can figure is that car 1 and 2 collided somehow doing an amazingly fast speed. The first car was all but destroyed and there were (by the fact I witnessed tarping) fatalities. I don't know about the 2nd. It was pretty bad but apparently the EMT's took people to hospital. They had the entire area taped off with Crime Scene tape and huge spotlights were posted. The road looked as if a 1000 pound disco ball exploded. After getting home I was struck by the need to call Nick (sorry for the 10:30 phone call :) ). One of the cars was a similar colour to his and even thought the body shape wasn't quite the same I knew I couldn't sleep until I phoned. All I keep thinking is but for the grace of *insert deity of you choice here* go my loved ones. Very scary. I don't know who was involved but in a town as small as Keswick the chances are pretty good I either knew someone or know someone who knows somone. Yes I know this is heavy fair for a Saturday, I promise to post something lighter later. Oh, it's 12:20 and I'm soooo bored (I'm at the Tourist booth) if you're online and on MSN say hi! I'm in Love! No, not with a guy :( (I wish). I just saw the most amazing necklace! Click here I'm playing at a Handfasting (Wiccan wedding) in October and I haven't got anything to wear. I do have a white blouse which will do. I guess I'll just wear a black skirt with it. Oh, I wish I had the money to get the necklace.... Oh to be rich. Or at least not broke. Or not such a "Girly" girl..... :) "Smile" Someone is on the ball! I've already had someone email me mentioning that my blog looks like it was taken from the set I designed yesterday. Yup. I just modified it a bit. And yes, you're more than welcome to use any and all of my websets or graphics on your blog. :) "Rant Alert!" Don't say you weren't warned! :) Last night I had my weekly gig at "Sax" but this was supposed to be a very important night. Gary Foch was going to try to drop by and listen to us (he couldn't make it but that has no impact on my rant). He contacted me last week about hiring us to play "Cathy's Christmas Wish Foundation Dinner". It's a really big benefit dinner that brings out all of the heads of the (lol) fortune 500 businesses in our area. Very prestigious, lots of press, great opportunity. Ken told this to Stewart on Monday so Stu was fully aware of how important it was. Stewart NEVER SHOWED UP!!! Not a word. This morning, when Ken got to work Stu said "Good Morning" and that's it. No "Sorry I couldn't make it" or anything. I am so livid. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! GROW UP!!!!! If you don't want to play anymore FINE! Tell us that. If I had not showed up for a gig, I would have never heard the end of it. Oh, wait... I would never do that. Gigs are jobs. Plain and simple. I know full well that Stewart would never just "not show up" for his real job. Oh wow! am I mad. Ken and I are going to Ken's brother Jody's house on Monday for rehearsal. Jody sings, plays bass and guitar. If Stewart doesn't want to play - so be it. Yea!!!! Everything seems to be working! Finally...... It's taken me about 45 minutes to get everything to sit where I want it to. I hate code! :oP Expect this look to change frequently. (Now that I've figured out the coding, there is no stopping me!) This all came about because Sarah had asked me last month if I'd be interested in playing around with a template in a blog she's working on. I said of course but have had no time. So I decided to screw around with my own before messing up someone elses. Changes If you've arrived here and things seem a little out of wack it's because I'm currently playing around with my template. I was bored with the old one and I figured I'd make my place my own and design mine from scratch. Bare with me. Thursday, September 19, 2002
Finally I finally got off my lazy butt and designed a new webset for public use. I use to update 2ce a week, now I'm lucky if I do it once a month. Ahhhh!!!! I'm really pleased with how this one turned out. What do you think? Click here Monday, September 16, 2002
More Shameless Self Promotion Ok. I know it's sad but here comes some more shameless self promotion. I currently have a few online store featuring some of my Artwork and Photos. They make great gift ideas. I hadn't given this kind of business much of a thought before but it's my last ditch effort to avoid total destitution. :) Posters T-Shirts Band Stuff (I'm still working on this one) WildButterfly Designs and Me Stuff If you'd like to view information about the quality of the products or a quick view of some of the things you will find, you can go to my websites online store hub. Yea!!!! It's finally here! The CD is done and available. (Of course, that said, we're going back into to studio to add 2 tracks for our CD release. Yes, with me nothing is ever perfect.) If you'd like one, they are $10.00 and my address is on the side bar of this blog. ![]() Yes, the above pic is what the CD looks like. (It's not a photo I drew it all by my lonesome. :) ) There are photos on the inside flaps and the CD contains 8 tracks; 7 original, 1 cover. Sunday, September 15, 2002
